So the boys have officially been out and about for one month. They both now weigh 3 lbs. and 10 oz. which means they have each gained over a pound. Some of the weight may be due to water retention, they are a little bit puffy, but over all they are gaining weight at a great pace.
The picture in this post is Elliot, and as you can see he is feeling much better (probably due to gas). He has been NPO for ten days, which means he has been off of the milk and getting his nutrients through a new PICC line. They will start his feedings back up tomorrow if everything still looks good.
Oliver is still looking great, he is at full feeds and breathing close to room air. I have a great video of Oliver with the hiccups, which I will try to upload to the blog after this post.
We still have a long road ahead of us, and the doctors assure us that we can still expect plenty of ups and downs. Our next big hurdle is the 30 day brain scan. They have already received a scan at 3 days and a second at 7 days, but the big in depth scan is the one that takes place at thirty days. The scan itself has already been performed, we are now just waiting for the results to be read by the doctors.
Thank you Eddie for sharing. We are always so happy to get your news. And now it seems the news is better every day. Love you all! Aunt Sandy
ReplyDeleteDearest Eddie and Julia:
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with this blog, I feel so much closer to the boys through it.
